Apple and Google’s mobile browser ‘stranglehold’ may face UK investigation

The UK competition watchdog is considering launching an investigation into Apple and Google’s dominance of the mobile browser market after finding the tech companies have a “stranglehold” on a range of areas including app stores. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) indicated that action was needed, saying that without intervention both companies were likely to strengthen their grip on the sector.
