Daily dose of vitamin D supplements lowers risk of advanced cancer, study suggests

Taking a daily dose of vitamin D can lower your chance of developing advanced cancer by 17 per cent, new research suggests. The risk of metastatic (cancer which has spread to a different part of the body) or fatal cancers is even lower for those who have a healthy weight and are consuming vitamin D, according to the researchers. The results, published in the journal Jama Network Open, are based on the Vitamin D and Omega-3 Trial (Vital), which concluded in 2018.
