Steering wheels, break pedals not needed in automated cars, says US

U.S. regulators have removed the requirement for automated driving system (ADS) vehicle manufacturers to equip their vehicles with manual driving controls, such as steering wheels and brake pedals, to meet safety standards. Due to safety standards adopted decades ago that require drivers to be in control of vehicles, automakers and tech companies have faced significant hurdles in developing driverless vehicles.
